Production I.G has unveiled the first details for a new Kaiju No. 8 anime short titled “Narumi’s Week at Work” (Narumi no Heijitsu), which will premiere in Fall 2026. The short, conceived by Kizuku Watanabe (creator of the Kaiju No. 8: Relax spinoff manga), puts the spotlight squarely on Gen Narumi — the Defense Force’s effortlessly overpowered and gloriously insufferable First Division captain.

Director Shigeyuki Miya returns alongside character designer and chief animation director Tetsuya Nishio, composer Yuta Bando, and animation studio Production I.G. Koki Uchiyama reprises his role as Gen Narumi, the fan-favorite anti-kaiju powerhouse known for his overwhelming strength and equally overwhelming attitude problems.
