The upcoming Tank Chair TV anime has unveiled its main cast in a new character promotional video, revealing that Kōki Uchiyama, Minori Fujidera, Gakuto Kajiwara, and Saori Hayami will lead the series when it airs this Fall 2026. The adaptation of Manabu Yashiro's violent sci-fi manga is being produced by Polygon Pictures.

Main Cast and Characters

The announced cast includes:

  • Kōki Uchiyama as Nagi Taira — the strongest assassin who protected his sister from a bullet and was left in a comatose state, now reliant on a combat wheelchair.
  • Minori Fujidera as Shizuka Taira — Nagi's younger sister and his "Tank Chair" assassin partner.
  • Gakuto Kajiwara as Naozumi Kurosaka — Nagi's former classmate who harbors a strong sense of rivalry toward him.
  • Saori Hayami as Touko Kurosaka — Naozumi's younger sister and partner.

Bandai Namco Filmworks also revealed a visual of the Tank Chair Mark-1, the basic form of the combat wheelchair that Nagi rides into battle.

A Violent Journey of Recovery

Kodansha USA Publishing, which has licensed the series for English release, describes the story: Shizuka takes on the most dangerous of assassin jobs, but she's not the one doing the killing. Rather, it's her brother, Nagi, a strong assassin who took a bullet to protect his sister, leaving him comatose and reliant on a wheelchair. However, Shizuka has figured out the key to waking her brother up: he must be faced with killing intent. Thus begins a violent journey of recovery, battling the most dangerous foes.

Staff and Production

The anime is directed by Tadahiro Yoshihira (Knights of Sidonia: Love Woven in the Stars) and Hiroaki Ando (Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, Ajin), who are also writing the script at Polygon Pictures. Yūki Moriyama (Blame!) is designing the characters, while Masaru Yokoyama (Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) is composing the music.

Manabu Yashiro debuted the manga on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket service in November 2022, and it was later moved to Monthly Shonen Sirius. The anime adaptation was first announced in March 2026 and is now scheduled for a Fall 2026 broadcast.
