Kadokawa has revealed that the television anime adaptation of Hiro Oda’s light novel series ‘Yowaki MAX Reijō nanoni, Ratsuwan Konyakusha-sama no Kake ni Notte Shimatta’ (Even Though She’s a Timid Young Lady to the Max, She Agreed to Her Shrewd Fiancé’s Bet) will debut in October 2026. Alongside the premiere announcement, the first promotional video, main staff, and additional cast members were unveiled.

Key Announcement Details

New cast members revealed include Rina Hidaka as Caroline Ramsey, Sora Amamiya as Erin White, and Haruki Ishiya as Henry Cox. They join previously announced leads Miku Itō as protagonist Pia Rockwell and Ryōta Ōsaka as Rufus Stan, both reprising their roles from the voice drama and manga voice comic episodes.

Nobuaki Nakanishi (I Shall Survive Using Potions!) is directing the anime at studio Jumondo. Hiroko Fukuda (Headhunted to Another World) is overseeing series scripts, and Moe Hyūga (The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten) and Natsuki Hamada are composing the music at Kadokawa.

The romantic comedy follows Pia, an ordinary grad student reincarnated as a 10-year-old background villainess in an otome game. Knowing her engagement with Rufus Stan will be called off, she asks him to end things early — but her request only piques his interest, leading to a seven-year bet that neither may want to win.

Community Reception

The otome isekai reincarnation premise has proven consistently popular in the light novel and anime space, and Yowaki MAX Reijo has already built a following with 1.2 million copies in circulation. The PV reveals vibrant character designs by Hyun Sik Choi and a comedic tone that fans of the genre have responded to positively. The involvement of Miku Ito as the lead (a veteran of many isekai and rom-com roles) and Sora Amamiya as Erin has generated excitement among voice acting enthusiasts.

What This Means

The October premiere slots Yowaki MAX Reijo into the competitive Fall 2026 anime season. With the source material spanning seven light novel volumes and a manga adaptation running since 2021, there is ample content for future seasons. The series joins Kadokawa’s expanding roster of light novel-to-anime adaptations and targets the strong “villainess” subgenre audience.
