Frontier Developments has officially announced Planet Zoo 2, the long-awaited sequel to the popular zoo management sim, launching October 13 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Arriving nearly seven years after the original, Planet Zoo 2 introduces flying and aquatic animals in aviaries and aquariums for the first time in the series. Frontier describes the sequel as a "generational leap forward in animation and animal behaviour," featuring improved visuals and a broader focus on conservation.
New Species and Habitats
New aquatic species include black-tipped reef sharks, hawksbill turtles, and colorful shoals of fish, while bird species will feature the toco toucan and the secretary bird. Players will restore natural habitats and release animals into wildlife reserves as part of a conservation-focused gameplay loop.
Beyond the new animals, the classic park management formula returns — balancing the needs of guests, staff, animals, and finances to run a successful zoo.
