Fuji TV announced on Friday that it is producing a live-action series adaptation of Kon Iguchi and Yūji Nakamura's suspense manga Tonight, I Have a Date with a Serial Killer (Konya mo Serial Killer to Machiawase). The series will premiere in the "Suidora Eleven" programming block on Kansai TV and other Fuji TV affiliated channels on July 1 at 11:00 p.m. JST.
Super Eight idol group member You Yokoyama plays the lead role of Shiro Isogai, a police detective struggling with a difficult case. Nagisa Sekimizu co-stars as Kuroi Hinata, a mysterious young woman who appears to have a "sixth sense" that helps her find serial killers before they strike again. When an anonymous informant begins tipping off the police about upcoming murders, Isogai discovers the source is far from what he expected — leading to an unlikely partnership between a desperate detective and an enigmatic young woman.
Hidetaka Sakamoto, Hiroki Inoue, and Toshimitsu Iizuka are directing the series, with scripts by Norikatsu Kodama and Kōta Edatsune. Licaxxx is composing the music.
