The upcoming second cour of the anime "Baki Dou" (刃牙道), premiering exclusively on Netflix on June 18, 2026, has revealed its theme song artists. Rising rock band Chevon will perform the opening theme "Roku no Wa" (六ノ輪, "The Sixth Ring"), while superstar dance & vocal group Sandaime J SOUL BROTHERS (三代目 J SOUL BROTHERS) delivers the ending theme "KATANA".

Chevon Brings Explosive Energy to the Opening

Chevon — a three-piece rock band from Sapporo comprising vocalist Taniinu Mayu, guitarist Ktjm, and bassist Ono Tatsuya — have been taking the Japanese rock scene by storm. With an average age of 24, their unpredictable song structures, literary and often maniacal lyrics, and explosive live performances have earned them sold-out tours, including their first Zepp tour in 2025.

Vocalist Taniinu Mayu, a self-proclaimed die-hard fan of the Baki series since elementary school, shared her thoughts on the opening theme:

"'Baki Dou' is actually my favorite arc in the entire 'Baki' series. The battle between Miyamoto Musashi and Honbucho Motobe is the most gritty, human fight I have ever seen — I was shocked that human resolve and inner depth could be visualized so powerfully. It's still my best match, and I never get tired of rereading it. Musashi wrote 'The Book of Five Rings' in life. Awakened in the modern era by mad curiosity, he surely saw a sixth ring. Hence, 'Roku no Wa.'"

Sandaime J SOUL BROTHERS' "KATANA"

Sandaime J SOUL BROTHERS, the seven-member dance & vocal group under the EXILE TRIBE umbrella, deliver the ending theme with a track inspired by the sword aesthetic of the series. Vocalist Ryuuji Imaichi commented:

"We created this song with 'katana' (sword) as our central theme. We focused on conveying the tension of drawing a blade, capturing the atmosphere of the moment two warriors face each other, and even incorporating the sound of a sword into the arrangement."

The group, who debuted in 2010 with "Best Friend's Girl" and won the Japan Record Awards in 2014 for "R.Y.U.S.E.I.", continue their legacy of delivering high-impact soundtrack work for major anime productions.

About Baki Dou

"Baki Dou" is the latest installment of the Baki anime series, adapted from the manga by Itagaki Keisuke serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 2014 to 2018. The story continues after the conclusion of the "strongest father-son brawl in history," bringing the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi to the modern world for a clash like no other. The animation is produced by TMS Entertainment, who also handled the previous Baki and Hanma Baki series.

The second cour of Baki Dou premieres on June 18, 2026, exclusively on Netflix worldwide.
