Japanese composer and songwriter Cornelius (Keigo Oyamada) has announced a new album featuring a collaboration with Sean Ono Lennon, alongside a lineup of Japanese tour dates and a London Barbican show. The album, his debut on the Eat Your Own Ears label, arrives August 19 and features guests including Arto Lindsay, Shintaro Sakamoto (ex-Yura Yura Teikoku), Bid from the Monochrome Set, and Sean Ono Lennon on the track "Aeons."

Release Details

The announcement follows last month's return with a Yōsui Inoue cover and news of a new label deal. The album marks Cornelius' first release under new creative circumstances, coming after a period of intense global and personal change.

Ono Lennon has a history with Cornelius, having previously invited him to join an iteration of his mother Yoko Ono's Plastic Ono Band. Cornelius shared his creative vision for the project:

"As the world and my surroundings changed at an intense speed, I think all of that inevitably shaped this work. Rather than expressing these ideas directly, I approached them structurally—exploring continuity, transformation, and multiple coexisting states within a single, uninterrupted flow of time."

Ono Lennon added warmly:

"I'm always honoured to work with Keigo, he's one of my favourite humans on the Earth Planet!"
