Hometown Triumph

The Hadano concert marks an emotional milestone for the band, who formed in the Kanagawa prefecture city in the late 1980s before rising to nationwide fame. Despite selling out Tokyo Dome and Yokohama Stadium multiple times over their decades-long career, LUNA SEA had never performed in their hometown until tonight. The setlist drew from across their extensive catalog, spanning from their early indie days to recent material.

About LUNA SEA

Formed in 1989, LUNA SEA consists of RYUICHI (vocals), SUGIZO (guitar, violin), INORAN (guitar), J (bass), and Shinya (drums). They debuted under YOSHIKI's (X JAPAN) Extasy Records in 1991, followed by a major debut in 1992 with the album “IMAGE.” The band's 1994 single “ROSIER” became a long-running hit, establishing them as one of Japan's premier rock acts. After announcing their “final chapter” in 2000, they reunited in 2007 and fully rebooted in 2010. 2026 marks their continued journey as enduring legends of Japanese visual kei and rock.

Community Reception

The hometown show and arena announcement generated nearly 2,000 interactions on Natalie and strong engagement on social media. Fans on Twitter expressed emotional reactions to the historic Hadano show, with many noting the significance of the band finally playing their hometown after 35+ years. The December arena dates have sparked anticipation, with speculation about potential special guests and setlists for the TO RISE extension. LUNA SEA's enduring popularity was evident in the rapid fan response, with many SLAVE members already coordinating their attendance for both the Kobe and Tokyo runs.
